Traditional Family Picnic and Children's Festival Brings the Peckham Community Together

The Traditional Family Picnic and Children's Festival, organised by the ICMG UK Peckham Branch Women's Department, was held today with an excellent turnout and a wonderful atmosphere. The event brought together families, children and volunteers for a memorable day celebrating unity, friendship and community.

Throughout the day, children enjoyed a wide range of activities including a football tournament, tug of war, egg-and-spoon race, yoghurt eating competition and sack race, while families spent quality time together in a warm and welcoming environment. The shared picnic, enriched by homemade dishes prepared by participating families, beautifully reflected the values of generosity, sharing and solidarity.

Special appreciation was expressed to ICMG UK Regional President Mr Übeyde Bilaloğlu and ICMG UK Peckham Branch President Mr Günay Veli, whose support and leadership played a significant role in making the event possible.

Sincere thanks were also extended to everyone who worked tirelessly throughout the year, contributed financially and spiritually, volunteered their time, and supported the organisation in every possible way.

In the closing remarks, the following message was shared by the Imam of teh Branch Emrullah Sarman:

"I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to our respected presidents, Mr Günay Veli and Mr Übeyde Bilaloğlu, for making today's beautiful gathering possible. May Allah be pleased with them. May Allah also reward everyone who has contributed throughout the year with their time, effort, financial support and sincere dedication. We pray that Allah grants us the opportunity to serve our community even better in the years ahead. May He continue to guide us, strengthen us and grant ease in all our efforts. I extend my warm greetings to everyone and entrust you all to the protection of Allah."

The event concluded with smiles, laughter and a strengthened sense of brotherhood, leaving participants with cherished memories and renewed motivation to continue serving the community together.
