Comprehensive information about this service offering

Dignity, Compassion and Support in Times of Loss

In Islam, death is a reminder of our return to Allah. The Qur’an teaches:

“Indeed, we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we shall return” (Qur’an 2:156).

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ also reminded us that honouring the deceased and supporting their family are among the important duties of the Muslim community.

Our Janāzah Service

Our Janazah service is dedicated to supporting grieving families with dignity, compassion, and care at one of the most difficult moments of life. We assist families in fulfilling the Islamic obligations connected to death, including ghusl (washing of the deceased), kafan (shrouding), the Janāzah prayer at the mosque, and coordination of the burial according to Islamic tradition.

ICMG Funeral Fund and UQBAH Funeral Assistance

Through the ICMG Funeral Fund, established on 10 November 2002, and its funeral assistance service known as UQBAH, we provide structured support for families in the UK, across Europe, and internationally. Over the years, the service has become a trusted source of assistance for thousands of Muslim families, helping to ensure that every member of the community receives a respectful and dignified farewell.

Official Procedures and Documentation

Our support includes guidance with official procedures such as death certificates, municipality and consulate processes, passport and identity documentation, transportation arrangements, cargo procedures, companion flight tickets where required, and coordination with funeral transport companies.

Our Mission

Our mission is to ensure that financial hardship never becomes an obstacle to proper Islamic funeral rites. Through structured participation plans and community support, UQBAH Funeral Assistance helps cover the significant costs associated with funeral and burial services for participants worldwide.

Our Core Values

Our service is built upon three core values: compassion, by serving families with empathy and understanding; integrity, by maintaining transparent and responsible systems; and unity, by strengthening the spirit of collective care within the Muslim community.

Repatriation and Transportation Support

Where repatriation is needed, we assist with the transfer of the deceased to Türkiye or other countries, working with trusted partner organisations to ensure that the process is handled respectfully and efficiently.

Cemetery Visits and Ongoing Care

In addition to funeral arrangements, we also support cemetery visits and cleaning programmes, especially before religious occasions, with Qur’an recitation and prayers for the deceased.

Funeral Washing and Shrouding Courses

We also encourage education in this important field through funeral washing and shrouding courses, where participants learn the correct Islamic procedures for ghuslkafan, and burial.

May Allah have mercy on all our deceased brothers and sisters, forgive their shortcomings, illuminate their graves, and grant them Jannat al-Firdaws. Āmīn.

However, since there was a difference in the scales at that time and a change in the use of the goods, Islamic scholars state that the Fitra amount of today should be at least one person’s daily food needs. The amount calculated for this year is £10 per person.
