ICMG UK Peckham Branch (New Peckham Mosque – Sheikh Nazim Al-Qubrusi) successfully concluded its 2025–2026 Education Programme with a joyful and well-attended Closing Ceremony held on 28 June. The event brought together students, parents, educators and community members in an atmosphere of unity, appreciation and celebration.
Among the distinguished guests were ICMG UK Regional President Ubeyde Bilaloglu, ICMG UK Education Commission Chair Ömer Topaloğlu, ICMG UK Peckham Branch President Günay Veli, the President of the ICMG UK Women's Organisation Aliye Sert, ICMG UK Peckham Branch Women's President Beyhan Küçük, together with many other guests and members of the community.
The programme was presented by Dr Ibrahim Urkaç, Regional Imam of ICMG UK and Advisor of ICMG UK Peckham Branch.
A highlight of the programme was the keynote seminar delivered by Dr Mehmet Gedik, Lecturer at Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University, entitled "Role Model Parenting and Moral Education in the Muslim Family." His inspiring presentation emphasised the importance of strong family values, exemplary parenting and nurturing moral character in future generations.
Throughout the programme, students from the Nursery, Preparatory, Primary and Secondary Education classes proudly demonstrated what they had learned during the academic year. The audience enjoyed beautiful Qur'an recitations, educational presentations and interactive Islamic knowledge question-and-answer sessions prepared by the students.
The ceremony also included an award presentation recognising students who excelled in the Branch Qur'an Recitation Competition and the Foundational Islamic Knowledge Competition, with prizes presented by members of the official guests and leadership.
In recognition of their valuable contributions to the branch's educational activities, appreciation gifts were also presented to the former Head of Education of ICMG UK Peckham Branch and Beyhan Küçük, Women's President of the ICMG UK Peckham Branch.
The programme concluded with heartfelt thanks to the teachers, volunteers, parents and students whose dedication contributed to another successful academic year. Participants expressed their hope that the coming education season would continue to strengthen Islamic education, community engagement and the development of future generations.
