Addiction can have a profound impact on individuals, families and wider communities. Understanding how addiction develops, how it affects mental and physical wellbeing, and how it can be addressed is an important step towards recovery and providing appropriate support to those affected.
In this seminar, “Understanding and Overcoming Addiction,” Dr Muhammed Zeyn Green-Thomson MRCPsych will draw on his medical and psychiatric expertise to explore addiction from a mental health perspective. The seminar will consider the nature and effects of addiction, the challenges experienced by those affected, and practical approaches to treatment, recovery and support.
The seminar is open to anyone wishing to develop a better understanding of addiction, including individuals, families and community members, as well as those with an interest in mental health and wellbeing.
Dr Muhammed Zeyn Green-Thomson MRCPsych is a qualified medical doctor and psychiatrist. He trained on the Imperial College London psychiatry rotation, followed by higher training in Cambridge.
His special interests include perinatal mental health, mental health related to physical ill health, and neurodegenerative disease.
